Yes, this is an issue related to codec which was used to encode the video.
When generating AVI, we use Microsoft MPEG-4 v2 codec, because this is available by default on Windows so users can play on Windows without the need to install any codec.
May be you TV don't support this codec.
You may try choosing MP4 when generating Video instead of AVI.
We use standard MP4 Base Media v1 codec so I think it can be played by your TV.
