the audio slide always "shorter"

0 like 0 dislike
Hello there!

I thought the delay was due to my soundcard latency (<100ms) but if the capturing lasts for more than a few minutes then the audio slide gets much shorter than  the main slide, leading to at least a few seconds offset between video and audio...

Any suggestions please?

Many thanks!

Hi,

This is really weird. Normally the audio and video should be in sync.

The difference in duration is usually just milli-seconds. This small difference is because audio and video is simultaneously recorded in two different threads.

We will need more information so could you please tell:

- What recording mode did you use: Full motion or smart?
- The recording area size?
- Open the task manager when you're recording and see how many CPU percents did ActivePresenter normally use?
- After recording: Please click on Audio and Video object in the recorded slide and see what is the duration of each object.

Regards,

Thanks for the quick feedback Dangle!

Here are the datas;

Using Vista and laptop inter celeron 2.26GHz with 2GB memory RAM
full motion recording
specific area 1273x694
CPU between 90 and 100% the first minute to then gradually raise and stick to 100%
video slide 90721
audio slide 90228
main slide (just like video slide) lasts 1min307
Hi,

Your information is very detail.

So the difference in duration between audio and video is around 500ms, this is acceptable according to your PC specifications. With old Celeron and just 2GB of RAM, I think you should try to reduce the recording area size for better recording result: the video will be smoother and be in sync with the audio.

Happy screencasting!

Regards.
Al right Dangle thanks. The really weird part is the fact that the problem occurs once in a while only. Could be that my PC gets slow(er) sometimes... But right now he's running smoothly and I just tried a few captures with full screen + loading web browser+ running audio files + loading into websites, 4 min long, and the audio slide is just fine!...
